Getting Here

Where should we fly into?

Fly into Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston or Sangsters International Airport in Montego Bay. From Kingston, the drive to Kanopi House is less than two-and-a-half hours, while driving from Montego Bay will take about an hour longer. If time’s an issue, opt for a quick helicopter flight for a much faster connection: 30 minutes from Kingston, and a 45-minute fly from Montego Bay. There is a 15-minute drive to the property upon landing, so be sure to have your phones charged; the scenery is breath-taking.

Whether you decide to rent a car, take a taxi transfer, or a helicopter ride, our Travel Concierge team is here to help you organize whatever works best for you.

Are transfers included?

Transfers are an additional cost. Our Travel Concierge team knows the most expedient, affordable ways to get you here and back home again, and are happy to help you arrange transfers. Simply ask for pricing, let us know which method of transportation you’d prefer and we can ensure your day-of travels are seamless.

KIDS

How Kid-Friendly is the Location?

At Kanopi House, we LOVE kids. But we also love parents. And we want to ensure everyone has the best possible experience during their stay with us. That’s why we typically don’t recommend children under 7 years old stay with us because it tends to be more stressful on the parents with our sloping landscape, winding stairs and open railings. With that said, every parent knows their child best and if you feel your children can come and enjoy themselves, they are more than welcome!

Meals

Do you have a restaurant? Are you able to handle specific dietary requirements? Eg. Vegan, Gluten Free?

Located in The Living Room you will find Kanopi House’s restaurant and general  gathering area. If you would like anything specific while staying with us, with enough notice, we can grant most every wish. If you have specific dietary requirements, that is not an issue. Please let your travel concierge know when your booking has been confirmed and we will make the property aware of your requests.

EAT YOUR HEART OUT

No matter your dietary restrictions, we will create delectable menus to match your preferences. Whether you’re a pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, or celiac – we’ve got you covered. All we ask is that you simply fill in the pre-arrival questionnaire – and our chef will design a tasting to suit you and your guests. Also – please keep us informed of any food allergies too.

For guests seeking a night out in the tropics, Port Antonio is your playground. Let us recommend a full range of dining and entertainment options – high-style, low-key, and everything in between. Our favourites include Mockingbird Hill, Trident, Woody’s and for an authentic Jamaican experience, Soldier Camp.

PACKING TIPS

Perhaps it’s less about what you pack, and more about what you leave at home, like watch chargers, laptops, and stilettos. We recommend bathing suits and cover-ups that can travel effortlessly wherever the day takes you, from water taxis to roadside cocktails and even a waterfall leap or two.

SPEAKING OF LITTLE CRITTERS…

Our layout includes loads of stairs, steep pathways, and treetop balconies around every corner. As such, we’ve found infants and children over seven are perfectly fitted to stay at Kanopi House.

ONE MORE NOTE ON CRITTERS…

Pets are welcome to stay with us. Just contact us before your visit for a quick consultation.

BUG OFF

Kanopi House is tucked in the middle of the rainforest – providing you a front row seat the natural beauty of Jamaica. But that also means, it’s important to be prepared. Each room is fully stocked with our favourite (read: trusted) repellants.
